Dataway Wins Check Point's Excellence Award for Best VPN Implementation
October 20, 1998 - Dataway, Inc. a San Francisco based networking and security company today announced that they have won Check Point's 1998 Excellence Award for best VPN implementation for their work with the MacManus Group. "We are delighted to have received recognition from Check Point for our work with the MacManus group. Check Point's first rate products have allowed us to successfully install and manage a truly global network across the public Internet. We're also very excited that the MacManus group had the foresight to start building the wide area network of tomorrow, today!" said Simon Lewis, Dataway CEO. The wide area network of tomorrow is possible today with VPN technologies from companies like Check Point. Working with MacManus, a New York-based conglomerate of advertising and communications companies, Dataway designed and installed a global backbone linking offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia. The secure network enables global email, intranet, extranet, multimedia, video conferencing and document sharing. With the help of Dataway's consulting expertise, the MacManus Group is now well positioned to leverage their Internet investment with greatly enhanced office to office communications leading to their goal of realizing a global agency. The award is presented to companies who develop the most innovative and successful implementations of Check Point enterprise solutions by customers and their resellers and VARs. The criteria for receiving the Check Point Excellence Award included: innovation of implementation using Check Point Software solutions; quantitative demonstration of how the deployments provided a return on investment to the business; enterprise-wide implementation focus; and use of multiple Check Point Software and third-party OPSEC products.
